After moving to the Carolinas in 1987, I continued my career as a Flight Paramedic and later as an Emergency Room Nurse. In 2000, I graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine with a Master's Degree in Biomedical Science in Nurse Anesthesia. As a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist), I have enjoyed helping patients through their surgeries by delivering high-quality anesthesia to people of all ages.

In our early 50s, my husband, Frank, and I began to experience strange symptoms of headaches, full body aches, and decreased energy that progressively worsened. We discovered high levels of heavy metals and began a detox program. After a few years, our symptoms only improved slightly, only to discover mold in the exterior walls of our home from improper construction. After 2 years (and a huge financial drain), we began detoxing from mycotoxin exposure. During this time, I also became diagnosed with Lyme and Babesia (a tickbourne co-infection). We've since begun using many of these same treatments with great success, feeling better every day.

Dr. Lisa Broyles MD, CFMP received her Bachelor of Arts in both Biology and Spanish at UNC Chapel Hill and medical doctorate from Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, NC. She practiced family medicine for eight years, then studied functional medicine through Functional Medicine University in Greer, SC. Early in her career she encountered many patients she could not help with traditional medicine. She soon discovered the “bustle” of life had entered medicine. In the rush to treat the “patient”, the person was lost. Thus began her quest to find another way.
Functional medicine is a comprehensive approach to medicine that sees each body system as part of the whole picture of wellness. True wellness occurs when every body system works together in harmony. This approach allows her to meet someone where they are in life - to address the whole person in mind, body, and spirit to achieve lasting wellness. Dr. Broyles loves hiking, trail running, mushroom hunting and horseback riding with her husband and two children.
